We are committed to providing resources that both teach and, at the same time, facilitate open discussion.

Gospel-focused

The gospel is of utmost importance - not only in bringing us to Christ but also as the foundational basis for Christian teaching. As Paul wrote to the Corinthians,

Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you — unless you believed in vain.
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.

As a result, the resources that we use in churches should always be gospel-focused. God has acted decisively in history by sending his son Jesus as the Messiah, and this news informs any and every topic that Christians teach about.

For small groups

Whether it's a self-contained "house church" community, or a "cell group" within a larger church, it's in the smaller group setting that the most effective gospel-focused teaching can take place. Smaller groups enable an authenticity of community, where participants can interact with one another and be shaped by the gospel as a community rather than as individuals

At CityGospel.net we have some concern that there are too few gospel-focused resources that are suitable for use in small groups. We are striving to provide material that is engaging, that is divided up appropriately for small-group meetings, and that encourages community discussion and conclusions.
